Pinnacle Research provides services and consultation at a multitude of levels to assist land managers in better understanding their visitors, facilities, resources and programs. Below are some areas of study our project team specializes in.
Visitor Studies
- Visitor studies reveal characteristics of visitor populations which allow managers to better understand the recreating public that use sites under their management.
- Typical studies explore satisfaction and opinions of recreationists, volume of visitor use at recreation sites, and characteristics of visitors and their trips.
Inventory and Assessment
- Inventories of recreation sites provide consistent tracking and reporting of site and facility conditions over time, which help prevent facility and resource degradation.
- On site and online mechanisms for site and facility assessments work to identify issues in the early stages of development so that steps can be taken to mitigate for challenges in a timely fashion.
Land Use Planning
- Analysis of existing land use helps to ensure resource protection while providing for outdoor recreation opportunities that span the spectrum from primitive areas with a high degree of solitude to large, hardened campgrounds for waterside RV camping and motorboat launching and docking facilities.
